Introduction[]
The Jeralic Purge was a period of rapid Jeralic expansion in the Orion Arm. The Adha'Shaa, a reptilian species were defeated in a brief war with Jeral, and became low-paid workers for Jeral. Other species in the region are losing a war with Jeral, which continues it's rapid advances. In total, Jeral jumped from only owning Strenton, to posessing the largest human empire, with over a dozen colonies. Most of these colonies are conquered empires who have been given some sovereignty of their own.
History[]
Arrival[]
The Jeralic population reached Strenton around 710 ERB, and quickly established a very advanced and powerful society on the world. Population growth hit a new unprecedented level, and technology was rapidly advancing. By 745, other colonies in the region were being established by Jeral. By the time the Adha'Shaa were first discovered in 746, Jeral had claimed six colonies around the region. A small Adha'Shaa colony was attacked by Jeral, who destroyed all Adha'Shaa outposts and captured the entire population. Jeral declared war on the Adha'Shaa.
War[]
The Adha'Shaa, horrified by the brutality and suddenness of the attack, responded to the declaration and quickly began efforts to build military and defenses around important worlds. Jeral continued it's barrage of assaults on Adha'Sha colonies, capturing them one by one. Finally, the entire Jeralic fleet warped into orbit of Adhuma, the Adha'Shaa homeworld, where a massive battle erupted. The entire Adha'Shaa fleet was destroyed in the end, but not before destroying three Jeralic destroyers in the process. The Adha'Shaa were utterly defeated, and the entire empire was now integrated into Jeral. Adha'Shaa people were given basic rights, but were largely discriminated against, only given the most labor intensive jobs, which Humans wouldn't take.
Wintermoorian Response[]
Due to the distance from Wintermoor, the news of Jeralic expansion and domination over the Adha'Shaa spread slowly. In 750, two years after the defeat of Adha'Shaa, the news finally reached Prima Asinica, where it was dispersed across human space. The Asinican Republic feared encountering a more competitive Jeral in the future, and began ramping military spending and research.
