Introduction[]
Mars is the center of the Unified Human Compact, and largest population center under their control. Mars has a massive defense fleet in orbit at all times. With a population of 4.9 billion, it is highly advanced in contrast to outposts under the UHC. The national capital, Olympus, serves as the national capital of the UHC, surrounding which is the single largest metropolitan region under human control.
History[]
With its founding in 2033 AD (Approximately -302 ERB), Mars was the primary destination of 1.8 billion inhabitants fleeing Earth from The Flame. The first inhabitants of the world formed as one nation, but composed of numerous states, each representative of the many inhabitants they came from. For nearly six centuries, the world struggled to survive, and nearly 100 million died as a result of it. However, eventually infrastructure was established, and massive underground farming facilities were built, capable of feeding the burgeoning populace. Efforts to build an atmosphere were engaged, mostly by regions of former French, British, German, Japanese, and American peoples. By 403 ERB, the atmosphere of the world was built and similar enough to that of Old-Earth. With some population declination from the nations colonization of the Jovian moons, Ganymede, Europa, and Calisto, Mars saw a massive economic surge, and began to rapidly ascend in technological standards, far beyond that seen on Earth.
Lifeforms imported from Earth coated the world by 450, making the former desert world officially a garden world. 2.5 billion people lived on the world, and another 500,000,000 lived off world, making the UHC the single largest human faction in the galaxy. However, population growth had been slow up to this point, while the Irabian System had seen unprecedented growth rates, so much that Wintermoor alone had as many people as the UHC.
The UHC had complete control of the entire Solar system for nearly a century by 450, and while tech standards were unheard of until this point, the key to FTL travel still remained a mystery to the UHC, something that only 25 years later would be discovered by Imerenian researchers. Mars' ecosystem would continue to develop, with forests now covering large portions of the world, and vast fields of crops spread across the rest of the surface beyond the cities.
in 818, the first colony ships equipped with FTL drives left in orbit of the world, heading towards Krete Island colony Pandora. Pandora was captured by the UHC military, igniting the UHC-Wintermoor War, the first interaction with the branch of Humanity who left beyond the Solar System centuries prior. A decade after the war ended in the overwhelming defeat of the UHC, the first Wintermoorian representatives came to the Solar System, with nations such as Imeren, Alan Nui, the Asinican Republic and Krete Island being represented.

As the primary economic stronghold of the UHC, Mars sees massive technological advances that many of its colonies go without, as well as better standards of living.
